THE HISTORY OF PARK SQUARE MARKET

Step back in time and walk through the doors of Park Square Market, a building steeped in rich history that dates back to the late 1800s. From 1892 to the 1930s, the structure housed two iconic businesses, each leaving an indelible mark on the local community. On one side stood the renowned Beggs Brother’s Park Square Store, which proudly served as the company store for the Begg’s Brothers Tannery. Simultaneously, the other side housed Fick’s Meat Market, a hub for quality meats and artisanal cuts. In the 1930s, the two establishments fused into one, transforming into the beloved Clover Farms Dairy Store, which graced the town with dairy delights until 1984 when Becky & Scott Brougher took the reins and launched Diamond Produce. Their passion for produce kept the legacy alive until their retirement in the fall of 2022 when the baton was passed to a new generation.

Today, Park Square Market proudly stands as a testament to this cherished history, continuing the tradition of being the heart of the town square. The market is a testament to the enduring spirit of community and the commitment to providing quality goods to its cherished customers. As the building once again embarks on a new chapter as Park Square Market, it remains dedicated to celebrating local produce, artisanal products, and the vibrant tapestry of flavors that define the region.
